Trupti grew up in West St Louis County and attended the University of Missouri–Columbia. After graduating from the university in 1992, she worked in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital until 2001. In 1997, she began working at Washington University in the Clinical Research Center (CRU). On the CRU, she was exposed to many different types of studies and learned a lot about study development and implementation. During her 5 years at Washington University, she also worked as a house supervisor at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. This opportunity helped keep her current in the realm of acute care and challenged her nursing and management skills.
In March 2012, she received the opportunity to reconnect with her roots and join the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Department, working with Dr Eghtesady. She is the lead coordinator for the Evaluation of Maternal B hemolytic Streptococcal Pharyngeal Exposure in Pregnancies Affected by Congenital Heart Disease study. She has learned a great deal and enjoys every aspect of coordinating this study.
